The Teacher You Get, and How We Pick Them

Male and female teachers, matched to the learner and kept in place. A Quran lesson is one person listening closely to another, so the teacher matters more than anything else on this site. Here is how AlhudaQuranEducation.com chooses them, what we check before anyone teaches here, and what happens if the match turns out to be wrong.

Male and female teachers

You choose who teaches your family

Many Muslim families want a female teacher for a daughter, or for themselves. We treat that as a normal request, asked at the start and answered before matching.

Female teachers

Sisters and children can learn with a female teacher. Say so when you book the trial and we match on it from the start.

Male teachers

Male teachers take lessons for brothers and for boys. If you have no preference, we match purely on level and hours.

The photographs on this page illustrate how lessons are taught. They are not pictures of our staff, and we do not publish teacher names or profiles. You meet your teacher in the free trial lesson.

How we match

Four things we match on, in this order

Matching happens after the free trial lesson, once a teacher has actually heard the learner read. Nothing is decided from a sign-up form alone.

Level

The trial lesson tells us what the learner can read today, not what their age suggests. The teacher is picked for that starting point.

Age and manner

A six-year-old and an adult beginner need different patience. We match the teacher's manner to the learner, not only their subject.

Male or female

You tell us which you want. Female teachers teach sisters and children. We ask this before matching, not after.

Your hours

Lessons are booked in your local time. We look for a teacher who is genuinely free at your hours every week, including early mornings and late evenings.

Before a teacher joins us

A demo lesson first, then learners

No teacher takes a lesson here on the strength of a CV. They teach a demo lesson to us before they teach anybody else, and we listen to it the way a parent would.

  • A demo lesson, taught to us, before they teach any learner here
  • Recitation and tajweed checked by someone who teaches it
  • Spoken English clear enough for the families they will teach
  • A working headset, camera and a quiet room to teach from
  • Agreement to our lesson conduct rules in writing

What you can expect

Six things you can hold a teacher to

If any of these is not happening, tell us. It is our problem to fix, not yours to put up with.

  • You are told the teacher's name before the first paid lesson
  • The same teacher takes every lesson, week after week
  • Lessons start on time and run the full 30 or 45 minutes
  • The teacher keeps to the lesson and to the written plan
  • A progress note each month, in plain words
  • A different teacher on request, with no argument

If the match is wrong

Sometimes a teacher and a learner simply do not suit each other. The learner goes quiet, or dreads the lesson, and no amount of patience fixes it. That is a matching mistake, and it is ours.

Email us or tell the office on WhatsApp and we change the teacher. You do not need to give a reason, there is no fee, and the plan and timetable carry over so the learner does not start again.

The short version

  • Male and female teachers, and you say which you want before we match.
  • Matching happens after the free trial, on level, age, preference and your hours.
  • Every teacher gives a demo lesson to us before they teach a learner here.
  • The same teacher takes every lesson, and we swap them on request at no cost.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my daughter, or I, learn with a female teacher?

Yes. Female teachers teach sisters and children. Tell us when you book the trial lesson and we match on that from the start, rather than moving you later.

Will it be the same teacher every week?

Yes, that is the point of matching. A teacher who remembers last week's mistakes does not spend this week finding them again. If they are ill or travelling we tell you in advance and offer a replacement lesson rather than a stranger.

What if the teacher is not right for my child?

Tell us and we change the teacher. You do not have to justify it, and there is no fee for the swap. We would rather move a learner once than watch them lose interest for a term.

Do you publish your teachers' names and photographs?

No. We do not put teachers' names, photographs or qualifications on this site. You meet the teacher we have matched in the free trial lesson and judge them yourself, which is a better test than a profile page.

How do you check a teacher before they start?

They teach a demo lesson to us first. We listen to their recitation and tajweed, watch how they explain a rule, check their English is clear and their setup works, and go through our conduct rules with them. Teachers who do not pass that lesson do not teach here.

Can one family have more than one teacher?

Yes. A family often has one teacher for Quran and a separate tutor for school subjects, or different teachers for children of very different ages. We put every lesson on one weekly timetable so nothing clashes.

Meet a teacher before you decide

The free trial lesson is a level check and a first meeting. You see how the teacher works with your learner, then choose.
